Privacy
Necessary network. No content upload.
Aiviel AI is a local-first AI tool for Mac. It may connect for software updates, model downloads, licensing, and safety notices, but it does not upload your documents, prompts, keyboard input, or generated text to our servers by default.
Data that stays on your Mac
- Chats and prompts
- Imported PDFs, DOCX, Markdown, text, and code files
- Local knowledge bases, retrieval indexes, and document chunks
- Generated drafts and work history
- Future keyboard input, snippets, and custom dictionaries
Required services that may connect
- Model weight and model catalog downloads
- Software update and compatibility checks
- License, purchase, or trial verification
- Support content and safety notices
These requests should not include document text, chat text, keyboard input, or generated output.
Local AI inference
Aiviel AI's default inference path runs on the user's own Mac. After a model is downloaded, core chat and local file workflows do not depend on internet access; first-time model downloads, software updates, and necessary services still require a connection. Any future cloud AI feature must be optional and clearly identified in the interface.
User control
- Users can delete downloaded models.
- Users can clear imported files, local indexes, and chat history.
- Model downloads should show size, license, and verification notes before download.
